Hey everyone,

After a long time of talking and not much action, I’ve finally soft-launched Smutba.se, a site for sharing lewd 3D models and other resources. It’s similar to SFMLab, but instead of files for SFM, you’ll find models for other 3D software including (but not limited to) Blender, Maya and XPS/XNALara.

Here’s a little Q&A:

Can I download these models or do I have to sign up?

At this time, anyone can download without creating an account or having to log in. Uploading is currently restricted to registered users.

Can I sign up?

That depends. Do you create 3D models? Do you intend to upload them to the site? If not, you’re probably not going to need an account. At this time there is no point in creating an account unless you intend to upload. There is no comments section or messaging system on the site. Logged in users can only upload!

Are you a 3D artist looking to upload some models to the site? You should definitely sign up!

There are only a small number models up for download…

Yep. The site hasn’t been up for very long, and not a lot of people have been invited yet. The amount of content uploaded will grow over time. If you want to help, ask your favorite 3D artists to upload their lewd models to the site! (but please be respectful and don’t whine if they say no)

I have stuff I want to upload. How do I sign up?

Send a PM to Ganonmaster on SFMLab, or leave me a message on the SmutBase Discord server. Be sure to include your email address. Optionally, include previews of stuff you want to upload. You will receive an invite link as soon as possible.

Why is there no comments section? I have opinions/grievances/issues regarding a file I downloaded…

Comments sections for adult 3D content have traditionally been very negative and unhelpful. They have been terrible in the past, which is why this functionality was not included in the initial release of the site. A comments system may be included in the future, or a different feedback system may be added in some other form, just not right now.

It’s very much possible that you found a bug. Send a PM to Ganonmaster on SFMLab, or leave a message in the bugs-and-features channel on the SmutBase Discord server.

No. Please use SFMLab for that instead.

What’s on the roadmap for Smutba.se?

Right now, as you’ll most likely notice, the functionality is limited and it’s a little rough around the edges. Up first is a more comprehensive tagging system, of which the basic functionality is in place. Users will soon be able to search by tags and assign special types to tags.(if you’re familiar with booru-style tag types, it’s similar to that!) Sorting and searching are priorities and tagging will play a central role there. I’m also actively listening to your feedback, and plan on adjusting the site to people’s needs. Eventually we’ll get to a point where registrations will be opened up and everyone can upload.
